All the following are works originally from the pen of another composer but arranged for brass band. All have been used as test pieces for areas/nationals etc. and not all necessarily at championship level. Once you've solved the anagrams, name the arranger in each case. (Choice of two for one of the pieces on show!) That's it! Pm me with your answers. Definite and indefinite articles included in the anagrams. Deadline? When I get fed up!! ;-)

    Lepers' duels (3, 8 )

    Yo-ho-ho! I invented farts, maaan! (10, 2, 1, 5, 2, 5)

    I am a native's groin (6, 10)

    DIY loser (2, 3, 1'2)

    Vol-au-vent carrier (8, 8 )

    Can mock the scruff - o dear me! (4, 6, 4, 9)

    Satan heroes' ghost rip-off (3, 5, 2, 12)

    It's sure even! (6, 5)

Edit. Mods, please transfer this to 'Random Chat'. Sorry! (Just not my day, today.....)

    You know what??

One day I am gonna cough up the cash to go all the way over to your side of the pond, Mr Payn. Then I am gonna drive up to where you rehearse, and I am not going to leave until I can see evidence that your band goes through as many anagram quizzes as we do!!!! :?

I know the 3rd one. It's easy!!! But that's it.

You'll be staying a long time, then! These quizzes are the sole domain of tMP-ites! (If anyone from my bands wish to have a go at them, they only need register here!)

    At long last!

Here be the answers. You all got it right, either exactly or near enough for jazz. First out of the hat was (tMP roll.......) Peter Bale!

Lepers' duels (3, 8 ) - Les Preludes, arr W. Rimmer or Bram Gay

    Yo-ho-ho! I invented farts, maaan! (10, 2, 1, 5, 2, 5) - Variations on a theme of Haydn, arr Harold Nash

    I am a native's groin (6, 10) - Enigma Variations, arr Eric Ball

    DIY loser (2, 3, 1'2) - Le Roi d'Ys, arr Frank Wright

    Vol-au-vent carrier (8, 8 ) - Carnival Overture, arr Geoffrey Brand

Can mock the scruff - o dear me! (4, 6, 4, 9) - Four dances from Checkmate, arr Eric Ball

Satan heroes' ghost rip-off (3, 5, 2, 12) - The Frogs of Aristophanes, arr Frank Wright

It's sure even! (6, 5) - Severn Suite, arr Henry Geehl or Bram Gay
