This Sunday (21st May) will see the award winning Sellers International Youth Band perform at the renowned Delph Bandclub under the baton of their Musical Director, Mark Bousie. The band, who recently gained the award for the Most Improved Band in the Community Section at the National Youth Brass Band Championships, will be joined by International Euphonium Virtuoso and Black Dyke Principal, David Thornton. David, who has been great friends with Mark for many years (he's currently his landlord!), will perform a number of classic euphonium solos with the band, who will undoubtedly benefit from appearing alongside a musician of this calibre. It has also been rumoured that Mark may be persuaded to exchange the baton for his euphonium for a grand duet finale! The band's programme will include a wide variety of repertoire, including music from Film and TV, a selection of traditional marches and hymns and a solo from their talented young principal cornet player, Joe Murray. The concert at Delph will mark a happy return to the beautiful Saddleworth village for the band as they are the reigning Delph Whit Friday Youth Champions. They are delighted to have been invited to perform at one of the most famous bandclubs in the world and are very much looking forward to Sunday evening. The concert starts at 8pm and you can pay on the door.
