Just agreed to play with St. Albans.
What bands are going?
Where is the bar?
Vectis Brass Band won Yippee. As I play 1st Trombone.
Stevetrom won prize for best bass trom....
Was it judged on weight of player, volume produced or amount of beer drunk
Is the full set of results published anywhere?
Still looking ... not on 4BR, not on scaba.co.uk .... am I looking in the wrong place?!
Looks like they are still adding in all the results.
In the 1st section Chichester won, St. Albans were 2nd and Crystal Palace were 3rd (yippee!). Horsham won the march but think they were 4th in the test piece.
And Horsham won the horn section prize! Woo Hoo!!!!
Another good show by Paul Voet and Brass Band Panta Rhei in the champ. section it seems (2d place). Did they play Purcell Variants (by Peter Meechan)?
Yes, the adjudicator said he enjoyed their performance, but obviously preferred Friary who were very good.
Results now on scaba website http://www.scaba.co.uk/latestresults.htm
Soo, double for Friary then! What did they play?
Paginnini Variations (I think)
Friary Guildford played "Tallis Variations" by Philip Sparke and the march "British Bandsman" by Derek Broadbent.
Ah yes - that was the one. Sorry.
And congratulations to Friary by the way. Thoroughly deserved from what I've heard.
Congratulations to Friary & especially to Wayne
