Okay then, who is going to the Folkestone contest ?

I'll start the ball rolling :-

    Ipswich and Norwich Co-Op (Championship)
    Soham Comrades (Championship)

    Anybody else?

Anyone know which sections are on which day?

Usually, Championship and 1st Sections are on Sunday, all other sections are on Saturday.

I'm not aware of any reasons why that should have changed this year.

(1st Section is definitely first thing on Sunday morning :( )

    Friary will be there too.
contrary to the rumours, I know Alliance won't. Not sure about anyone else on our section.
LGB will be in 2nd section and Chichester will be there for 1st section.

Shame about YWD - what happened? :(

Usual story really. Too many other gigs to do and just a general feeling that we weren't going to be anywhere near ready. The band decided that if we couldn't go there and put on a good performance we would gain nothing and moral would take a real nosedive.

We wont be going either, so thats another band less in the Champ & 1st sections. :(

I donĀ“t think there will be any Belgian bands this year (that I know off).
Brass Band Panta Rhei from Ghent did really well last year, but this year they already made a concert trip to South Africa, so I suspect their budget for travelling is already spent...

Does anybody know who the adjudicator(s) is/are?

I'm asking on behalf of a friend, so not sure which section is relevent.

    Many thanks

The adjudicator is Paul Norley. If you check with your band secretary, they will have a copy of the latest Scaba "Bugle" which has a profile of Paul.

Agree with HBB, Pauls one of the younger generation of adjudicators. Honest and diplomatic! :D about time he was given a decent contest to adudicate.

Regent Brass will be there too - think we're still championship locally. Hopefully we'll get to play before 9:30 at night this year though!
