    scaba's annual Entertainment contest returns to The Hawth in Crawley this Sunday, 19th May.
    18 bands will each play a 24 minute concert programme; the first band will be on stage at 9.55am.
    Tickets available on the day: £7.50 Adult, £4 concession, children under 10 free.

    Thanks to everyone who took part; it was a really enjoyable day with a great atmosphere, and its always good to see our local association so well supported.

    It would be pretty hard to take being beaten by a band that withdrew I would imagine!

    Has this ever happened to anyone's knowledge?

    I remember reading about a musical contest years ago (might have been a choral competition? Might have been in Sweden? Who knows...) where there was only one entrant. However, said entrant turned up late, and were penalised the regulation amount for lateness - one place in the ranking. So they were awarded second place out of one.

    Not quite coming behind a withdrawn group though...
