SCABA Entertainment Contest 2010

    Does anyone know which bands are competing at this years SCABA Entertainment Contest in Crawley?
    The band I play in (Ocean Brass) are.

    Should be a good comp. Don't know about section B

    ps: could you tell whoever created the results sheet that the conductor of one of the bands might not be who is stated on the form - It;s a long way from Ashford to IOW for rehearsals so I suspect that one may be wrong.

    Best march - Regent; best soloist Kevin Barker (flugel), Sandurst.

    Sandhurst & Soham had equal points but S'hurst were placed higher because they scored more for music

    Well chuffed for Friary - not bad considering we were all whacked from our day out in Blackpool yesterday!

    Friary played:

    Seventy Six Trombones (we tried to convince Mr Sparkes it was a march, but it didn't wirk, lol!)
    Lament from Stabat Mater - sop solo
    Final Hymn from The Firebird
    and the last movement of Year of the Dragon as an encore.

    Congratulations guys - I was backstage with Tilbury at the time, but the band sounded excellent through the speakers!! 4th Place in Blackpool too is no mean feat!
