    B & R Welcomes New Resident Conductor

    Brighouse and Rastrick Band, newly crowned Champion Band of Great Britain, is pleased to announce the immediate appointment of Sandy Smith, former Principal Horn player with Black Dyke Band to the position of Resident Conductor.

    Following the recent vacancy the band officials in liaison with their Professional Conductor, Professor David King have been pursuing the best option for the band's continued success.

    With over thirty years of experience at the very highest level of banding combined with immense music writing skill Sandy commented ‘I'm thrilled at this opportunity to work closely with Professor David King, the band's professional conductor, in continuing to develop the profile of Brighouse and Rastrick as one of the worlds leading brass bands’.

    Onwards and upwards for the players in purple!
