this maybe a weird thing to ask, but i love different kinds of sauces on butties, for example on a bacon muffin i usually have seafood sauce and english mustard and mayo. i think its gorgeous but the buttie shop today ithink they thought i were a bit weird!!! does anyone else have weird combinations or is it just me???
I don't like any sauces on my sandwiches... I hate soggy food... but this thread is making me REALLY hungry! The best butties ever are sausage and hash brown sandwiches... on white bread with lots of butter and a glass of milk to drink it with. YUMMY!
My missus eats peanut butter and tomato sandwiches, which makes me heave. The best sausage sandwiches are made with lorne sausage, that square block of sausage meat that's sliced and fried - with ketchup, of course. AFAIK, only available in Scotland .
Lorne sausage  and ketchup? Yeuch! Lorne sausage and HP, of course.... Which also goes well with strong, mature cheddar :tup
Best sarnie in the world.... Xmas sarnys!! Turkey, Bread Sauce, Cranberry, Apple Sauce, Chestnut Stuffing, Sage n Onion Stuffing, Pork and Apple Stuffing... any other stuffings lol... all whacked in a big giant huuuuuuge sandwich
Gotta agree with that one!!! Or its either fishfingers with red sauce in white bread or sausages with red & brown sauce and a cup of tea!!! Yummy!!!!
Noooooo!!! not just you MrBrass!!! Try these Walkers Crisps with Worcester Sauce on em Also, Bacon, New Potatos and Mint sauce!! Wicked Matey!!
Savoury sandwich: Ham and pickle (so long as it's Branstons) Sweet sandwich: sliced banana with a sprinkling of sugar (possibly with a few raisins as well) I wouldn't go for anything too runny in a sandwich, as it has to survive my daily commute into work
Salad cream butties( no butter):tup Cheese spread and crisps Although, I manage to make a butty out of anything on my plate......savoury of course. Meat pie and mushy pea butty? Delicious!
One of my erstwhile colleagues - now in a senior position with the SA in the UK - was exactly the same, one of his favourites being the pork pies they used to give us if we were going out anywhere
