Armed Forces Day is a chance for our community to show its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces family: from current serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

Brackley & District Brass Band is joining forces with friend and near neighbour Towcester Studio Brass Band on Saturday 25 June to perform at the wonderful Ugland Auditorium, Stowe School.

The Bands decided to support Armed Forces Day for this first Massed Bands Concert to be held at Stowe and promoted by Arts at Stowe. Both Bands will give individual performances prior to coming together for a rousing finale.

As the theme of the concert has a military connection, the audience will be treated to some exciting pieces that span the years and will include two special guest soloists. Samantha Buckland is the Solo Tenor Horn player at Towcester but has delighted audiences with her wonderful soprano voice at most of TSB’s regular local concerts so you are in for a treat. Steve Bailey is the Soprano Cornet player with the world famous Desford Colliery Band and you are sure to be enthralled by his solo item in which his superb talent will be showcased.

The concert will commence at 7pm. During the interval there will be an opportunity to mingle with Band members in the bar area and ask questions about any aspect of the concert, life as a Brass Band player or indeed how to join a Band!

Please come and support us as we do our bit to recognise the efforts and sacrifices that the men and women of our Armed Forces continue to make to keep us all safe! A donation will be made to the ABF The Soldiers’ Charity in recognition of our support and to help this charity continue their valuable work.
