Yes. St Dennis Band MD Eddie Williams recorded it on an LP "Best in the West". I have this recording. It is a lovely piece. Why do you want a recording?

  3. I've allways loved the piece also where currently playing it at rehersals.
Its refreshing to hear a test piece with such a lovely melody.

Yes I totally agree. Great practice for soloists. Full marks to your MD. Ken

Yep ST Dennis Band 'Best in the West' I was 2nd euph there at the time. Great piece which hasn't got easier with age.

  6. I'll be listening out for you, just bought a copy of the L.P from an excelent web site. http://www.euph9.freeserve.co.uk/05brasslpep.htm
Ive dusted off the record player ready.
Do you think it could be used as a forth section test piece?
    I do.

As a fourth section test - absolutely. Good tunes (some have forgotten how to play tunes), great chording requiring excellent intonation. Great test.
