Richard Marshall and Roger Webster would like to present their cornet students from the Royal Northern College of Music in a Spotlight concert next week.

The cornet students of the RNCM have come together for the first time in years to perform as one ensemble, presenting original works by some of the brass world's leading composers.

The young musicians (who play for the likes of Black Dyke, Foden's, Grimethorpe, Pemberton Old Wigan DW, Marsden and Hepworth outside of college) will be performing Anthony Plog's 'Suite for 6 Trumpets', Simon Kerwin's 'Illustrations for Cornets', 'Espana Cornetta' by young composer Toby Butt and the world premier of Andrew Ford's 'The Cloths of Heaven'.

The Spotlight will take place in the RNCM's newly opened Carole Nash Recital Room at 6.30pm on Wednesday 6th April. Admission is free. For more information, please visit www.rncm.ac.uk.

    Conductor: Alistair Campbell

Players: Hannah Robson, Emily Weaver, James Smythe, Nathan Gratton, Paul Shafi, Alanah Moulsdale, Alex Gibson, Craig Kilgour, Melanie Whyle, Joey Williams and Rebekah Caldwell
