    Results of the Belgian National Brass Band Championships 2007, held on Sunday 25 November in the Royal Music Conservatory of Brussels.

    Championship division (test piece: Vienna Nights, Philip Wilby)

    1) BB Willebroek (Frans Violet) 287/300= 95.67%
    2) BB Buizingen (Luc Vertommen) 284/300 = 94.67%
    3) Metropole BB (Guy Audenaert) 283/300 = 94.33%
    4) Festival BB (Manu Mellaerts) 282/300 = 94.00%
    5) Noord-Limburgse BB (Ivan Meylemans) 275/300 = 91.67%
    6) Kortrijk BB (Lieven Maertens) 271/300 = 90.33%

    Since Willebroek is automatically qualified for the European Championships, Brass Band Buizingen will get the second Belgian ticket for Norway next year.

    1st division (testpiece: Purcell Variants, Peter Meechan + own choice piece)

    1) Young BB Willebroek (Frans Violet) 256+266 = 522/600 = 87.00% (own choice: Sounds, John Golland)
    2) BB Province de Liege (Benny Wiame) 253+267 = 520/600 = 86.67% (own choice: Paganinni Variations, Philip Wilby)
    3) BB Zele (Bart Van Der Strieckt) 256+260 = 86.00% (own choice: Romans 8, Ray Steadman-Allen)

    2nd division (testpiece: Oceans, Goff Richards + own choice piece)

    1) BB Heist (Bert Van Thienen) 253+265 = 518/600 = 86.33% (own choice: Voyage of Discovery, Goff Richards)
    2) BB Leieland (Wouter Loose) 258+255 = 513/600 = 85.50% (own choice: The King of Elflands Daughter, Rodney Newton)
    3) KBB Smeermaas (Danny Aerden) 246+257 = 503/600 = 83.83% (own choice: A London Overture, Philip Sparke)
    4) BB Panta Rhei Ghent (Paul Voet) 241+252 = 493/600 = 82.17% (own choice: Coventry Variations, Bramwell Tovey)
    5) Mons St. Georges BB (Thierry Descamps) 241+236 = 477/600 = 79.50% (own choice: Epic Symphony, Percy Fletcher)

    3rd division (testpiece: Anglian Dances, Alan Fernie + own choice piece)

    1) Flugelbrass (Michael Dils) 251+255 = 506/600 = 84.33% (own choice: Hasslemere Sutie, Peter Graham)
    2) BB Retie (Kevin Houben) 248+256 = 504/600 = 84.00% (own choice: Lake of the Moon, Kevin Houben)

    :) (... that's for Buizingen and not the spelling mistake which is kinda funny though!)

    After their performance at Folkestone, this did not come as a surprise. Well done Bert and band :clap:

    Did Brassband Bacchus enter? They also played at Folkestone.
