Just got in from the contest and I would have to say the standard was very high from the bands I heard.
YBS Concert were superb but I think Meltham were very unlucky to be drawn no. 1 for the 4th year running.
This didnt help their placing IMHO as they put on a very good show indeed.
    Anyway just my thaughts!

Well, thanks for the congrats all!!

My personal thoughts were that we put an average performance out, with a few too many individual slips, putting us maybe in top 6. with a bit of luck.

From what i've heard from observers, SY Police were a little unlucky not to pip us.

However, somebody put it "you sounded like a good band having a not-so-good day" and maybe Mr Swancott had the same vibes.

I'm delighted with the result and can't wait for Harrogate and i feel this placing was deserved by the band on the whole, if not for the performance.
    Bring it on!!!

    Sorry?? 4barswho??

Thought you were a bit unlucky, but I didn't hear all the bands who came above you.

    Well done to Barnsley!

Well done to Barnsley Building Society. John Hopkinson is back at the helm and they need aq bit of luck for the next few months as they rebuild what has always been a great band in that area. Great news

    Happy days are here again.

Well done to all at YBS Concert Brass - especially those who had to stick it out through the 'difficult' period a couple of years ago.
Let's make it 5th time lucky in the Nationals and win that too.
Well done Mike Hannan for taking over the reigns and steering the band back onto the right track.
Hope to see you all in Harrogate in October!!

P.S. Thanks also for my Dad's card. He really appreciated it (as did I).

    Re: YBS Concert Brass

I was sitting in the top gallery just in front of most of YBS concert. We'd been doing a bit of cheering for Barnsley, but nothing to the ear splitting roar when the winning result was announced. We didn't hear who the band was! :D
