I am in need a small amount of help from anyone who still runs Win 98.

If anyone does happen to use Win 98, and wouldn't mind helping me out (nothing massive honest  ), would you mind dropping me a reply here or alternatively you can PM me.

    Thanks.

    John

I'm on 98 if i can be of any help, John.

This is through choice! It's very reliable and in my experience (College studio has gone through 2000, ME and now XP) it runs most music programmes more effectively than its successors.

Bill Gates is probably a really nice bloke (hi Bill!) but he doesn't need any more of my money.

Totally agree StraightMute!!!!! WindowsXP is the biggest mistake in Windows invention! So many security flaws, even with the update, compatibility is not totally accurate!

    Win98 rules the roost!!

I totally disagree. Win 98 was a nightmare IMHO. XP is so much more reliable - if an application crashes it doesn't take the whole operating system with it as Win 98 did with it's blue screens of death! Hated it.

Sorry James but Win98 is abysmal and should've been consigned to the dustbin along with Windows 3.0. As a developer and as a user WinXP is a fine OS despite its "flaws" though I'd rather be using OSX on an iMac :)

I agree with bruceg, Win98 is and always has been flaky and prone to crashing when developing on it. XP (with the up-to date patches) is far more stable.
