Hi all, Dalewool do an annual ANZAC Day concert (the downunder equivalent of UK Remembrance Day) which is always a crowd pleaser.

Must admit though, a few of the players are getting a bit tired of trotting out the same stuff each year...

So, can any of you fine people suggest music (especially recent releases that haven't trickled down her yet) that might suit?

Music from the wars, marches, hymns, tunes about war/peace and film music from war movies ideally!

    Cheers everyone.

Has Where ever you are by Paul Mealor reached you yet? Recorded by a choir of Military Wives, there's a whole back story if you google it

I'm not sure whether its been arranged for brass or not but "The Mansions of the Lord" is a cracking tune - used in the film about the battle of Ia Drang in Vietnam "We were Soldiers".
(Which brings the question - I know Australian troops were involved in that conflict , were any from NZ ?)
