    I went to the annual spring concert by the Noord-Limburgse Brass Band, yesterday in Eksel:

    Concerto Grosso (Philip Sparke) - brass quartet and band
    Solo Secundo (William Himes) - 2nd horn solo ;)
    Just a Closer Walk (arr. Alan Fernie)
    Valero (arr. Sandy Smith)

    excellent concert, soloists were great, especially 2nd horn player Peter Cools :D

    other remark: it seems like everyone plays Valero nowadays! :)

    Its good to se Philip Sparke's Concerto Grosso on the programme. I am surprised that not many bands put this one on their progs.

    Nice mix of old and new there, and great to see "The Arcadians" - one of the first pieces I ever played with Coventry Festival band on the bandstand in Wolverhampton some 36 years ago! Great melodies, though, and well worth a revival ;)
