The opening track on the show last night was Richard and Linda Thompson's I want To See The Bright Lights Tonight, with a brass section playing. Mark Radcliffe then said it was the CWS Manchester band, and seems to have been recorded around 1974ish?

Did anyone on here play on it (Mello perhaps??)

I know Kate Rusby uses a lot a brass band musicians in her music (Grimethorpe, I think, although a friend of mine in the Coldstream Guards has also toured with her)

The back of the LP sleeve states CWS (Manchester) silver band but no list of individual musicians.
Does sound like Brian Evans - but I could be wrong.
Mello could be a good bet and was Phil Goodwin ( Dyke) at co-op then ?

They also appear on the follow up album Hokey Pokey
