    An Englishman visiting Scotland walks into a cake shop.

    "I say old chap is that a doughnut in the window or a meringue?"

    "Nae Jimmy you're right it's a doughnut"

    As a Scotsman I get the joke but it may be lost on some of the non Scottish contingent I think.

    It certainly was lost on me, until Moy supplied the phonetic hint. I hate to say that - despite my name and the fact that I lived in Dundee for several months when I was young - I am not an expert at deciphering Scottish accents. Especially written ones.
