I played safe for the open and only did a top six but here is my top and tale of the section, and yes I know Dyke are on form but YBS will be desperate to restake there claim and take the crown for the first time in their 150 (proper) history!!!! Good Luck Lads!!

  5. I think Brighouse or Grimey will win it. They stood out by a country mile from the rest of the field at the Yorkshire area. Black Dyke are on a bit of a run along with Cory. So my Top 6 are as follows.

    1. Brighouse
    2. Grimey
    3. Cory
    4. Black Dyke
    5. YBS
    6. Reg Vardy.

    But I might be wrong...................................

From what I've heard of the test-piece, and particularly its rhythmical complexities, I reckon it's going to favour those bands with more experience of such music, which I feel will go against most of the lesser-fancied combinations, including the first-timers. Whilst on the face of it it looks to be one that could suit YBS & David King they didn't sound totally comfortable in Birmingham, although they will certainly want a good result with the Europeans in mind. The following would still do the trick:

    BAYV
    Black Dyke
    YBS
    Reg Vardy
    Whitburn
    Grimethorpe

Edit: Just read the 4barsrest preview articles, and wanted to confirm I had written this first - honest
