Gloucestershire's PolySteel Band will be holding a public rehearsal before the defence of its West of England championship crown.

The current champions conducted by Philip Harper will be showcasing its work on Eric Ball's 'Festival Music', which is this years set test piece for championship section bands at the contest in Torquay. PolySteel's musical director Philip Harper added, "This is the first time the band has held an open rehearsal and we hope to give listeners the opportunity to see how a set work of this magnitude is pieced together. Its a wonderful work and deserves to be heard outside of the brass band medium".

The rehearsal will take place on Friday 7th March at Crypt School Hall, Podsmead, Gloucester starting at 8pm, entry is free.
