On Monday 28th November Pilling Junior Band held their annual awards evening. Having just reached our 90th member, Hambleton Church Hall was packed full with players, parents and friends.

We were pleased to welcome along Philip Watson (Development Officer for the BFBB) as a special guest to present our awards.

The main prize-winners were as follows:

Beginner Band Player of the Year – Guy Spiers

Intermediate Band Player of the Year (winner of The Shovel’s Shield) – Matthew Sandham

Cornet Player of the Year (winner of a Virtuosi cornet donated by First Brass) – Elizabeth Bradley

Musician & Most Improved Player of the Year (winner of The Tom Redman Shield) – Patrick Callery

The runners up for Musician of the Year were Adam Taylor and Andrew Bradley.

Pilling Junior Band are proud to have 3 players in the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain and 9 players in Lancashire Youth Band and Lancashire Concert Band.

We are now looking forward to an early Christmas treat in the form of a Masterclass with Quattro Brass on Sunday 4th December.
