    Hi there,

The next exciting purchase for EUBB will be a new set of cup & straight mutes for our cornet & trombone sections. We'd really like to play a piece or two in our Christmas concert that show these new items off - has any one got any suggestions for pieces that might do this? (Doesn't have to be Christmassy)

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Catherine

Try Howard Snell's arrangement of Winter from the Four Seasons, the tune is in the horns but all the "pizzicato" accompaniment is on muted cornets. In fact, any Howard Snell arrangement will probably see you getting full value for money out of your mutes! Oh and there's always Highland Cathedral ;); definitely some mutes in there somewhere!

Duet for 2 Cats (cornet and trombone) is muted I believe.
