If you had to pick a concert program for your band, or indeed any band, to play what would it be? We'll put a maximum of 16 pieces in your mock concert... ;) I'm curious to see people's favourites.

This is open to MDs too, if you felt like sharing some favourites you've used in concerts?

Browsing through my post history, I vaguely remember posting this thread over a year ago. So, I will bump it and see if I get any responses this time. :)

    Excellent concert :D
Who needs another 15 pieces once you've heard Bandology?

We need a good choreographed opener that gets the audience's attention ... this Phil Collins number (using the Earth, Wind & Fire horn section) is my choice (a nearly acceptable MIDI file linked below).

You're right about that! I had my speakers up quite loud because I was listening to music earlier, and I got such a startle when I clicked on the link!

Is it 16 pieces in total or can we each choose 16?

as well as Bandology i'd also have Deep Harmony and Amazing Grace, Banard Castle, Romanian Dances, Army of the Nile, All that jazz, Band of brothers Symphonic suite, Sospan Fach, The Grand old duke.......

Cornets/Troms would be split and flanked on the sides of the seated audience, crossfiring the fanfare-like motifs. The rest of the band start the main body of the piece, allowing cornets/troms to approach the stage, turning to the audience with the framented fanfare until they join the final tutti section. Conductor can do the tap dance sequence that the drummer ends the piece with. How does that sound?

Yeah, I meant each of you to choose 16, to make up your perfect concert.
