Great skies a few evenings ago over Newport, so when out for a walk with Jen, Heather and the dogs on Sunday evening, I snapped this. 5 bracketed shots merged with Photomatix.

    That looks amazing!

If I ever make a solo album, you can do the cover photo... long as it's not of me. They don't make lenses that strong....

Wehey... thanks very much everyone, I really do appreciate your comments and wasn't expecting this - especially from this image. Some people are none too fond of this technique, though for many images I feel it enhances them... this one in particular with the dramatic sky etc.

They are not meant to be representation of what I or my camera actually saw through the lens, nor do I pretend they were, they are more of say an enhanced version of this. That is what this type of processing is all about.

    Thanks again.

If you like 'em, then I shall most certainly keep posting 'em... :) :tup

Here's two I shot today when out on a walk with the family and friends. They were taken on the banks of the River Usk, just adjacent to Llangynidr village.

John, have you ever thought of releasing a calendar?

They are gorgeous photos John - you certainly have a flair for a good shot - judging from the ones you post on here anyway.

    Great job!

Thanks Andi, and April - much appreciated.

Andi: Not thought of doing a calendar to be honest, well... only one of our puppies for the lady wife for a Christmas or Birthday pressy... :) The problem with calendars is one of cost. It's fine paying a price for a one off for a loved one etc, but to get any decent price to then be able to sell on one has to order hundreds - which is not really feasible for me. Thanks for the suggestion though.

April: Thanks for the feedback, I don't go anywhere without the camera any more... :) Too many shots missed by not taking it with me... everywhere! :)

    Here's two more for you...

I was at a hotel for a conference today, and before everyone arrived I took these shots in the grounds.

How about approaching jigsaw puzzle manufacturers? The last pic looks just like something you'd find on a jigsaw.

John, without appearing rude i thought i'd add some sunset pictures from directly across the water in clevedon. The camera is nothing like what you have but i think they're quite effective pictures..

If you ever get the chance to get over to clevedon on a nice summer's night i would really recommend it, with a decent camera like you have you'd be impressed with what you can shoot!

    Great Pictures, as usual.

Nice suggestion Di, I might do some digging!

Not rude Chris, thanks for posting them. The first is better in my opinion, but is taken directly into the sun thus under exposing much of the rest of the image leaving it a little dark.

I have only a few pics from Clevedon, of the Church on 'Poets Hill' - is that what it's called. I must get over there for some Summer evening pics... watch this space OK... :)

Here's two small ones of the church I mentioned. I wanted to create that spooky graveyard look...

Many thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

John, I want that second one of the church on my wall!!!

Seriously, you should make a proper business venture out of this....

I was thinking the same thing. I'd buy a print of that one also.

    Excellent shots John, really.
