Docklands Sinfonia is privileged to be joined by Philip Cobb, co-principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra, who will be performing the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto.

This will be his first solo concerto since joining the LSO in 2009 at the remarkable age of just 21.

Described by the LSO as a 'talent beyond his years', the former Guildhall School of Music & Drama graduate won Most Promising Performer in the Maurice André International Trumpet Competition in 2006 and has played as a soloist conducted by Vasily Petrenko.

The orchestra will also be building on its track record of promoting young British composers with the World Premiere of ‘Moscow Festival’ by Rob Davies.

Docklands Sinfonia will bring the ‘From Russia to Love’ concert to a close with Rachmaninov’s powerful Symphony No.2 in E Minor.

Tickets: £10 (Box Office) £12 (Door) and £8 (Concessions)
    Box office: 07827 568992 or

Fantastic piece this - remember playing for Consett accompanying Maurice Murphy playing this. Awesome! Sure it'll be just as good from young Philip! :D

Hoping to get along as I only work round the corner. Good to see an orchestra encouraging young composers as well as soloists.
