Would anybody like to buy a 'pencil holder' for thier instrument?
It is a clip which attaches to a pipe on your instrument and then a pencil clips into it.
It is a handy, clever idea and would be up for offer at 3 ound but with p+p 5 pounds.

Hmmm... pics / photos in operation would help. That's also a lot for p&p.

Or you could pick up a magnetic pencil which says "I love my Tuba" on ebay for £3 and only £0.50 P&P....!! ;)

Handy to use on your stand but I don't think it would work on a brass instrument?

I think that you would also find it hard to use on your stand as well as your brass instrument.
Personally I find they work best on paper!!:D

Probably not as I was given several (including pencils!) by Mark Carter at Mr.Tuba (www.mrtuba.com) for nothing.

OK then, the expected price for this item at auction has been quoted to fetch £3.00.

I'll start the bidding at 50p (including P&P)

Um, do you mind me asking why you are so desperate to get rid of it?

Really tempted to up the ante, but won't for two reasons:

    1. We should really turn this thread, or this category into an auction - we have eBay for that!
    2. I can't for the life of me think why I'd need a pencil holder for my tenor horn - granted it can hold a pencil, but still.........

I'd love a pencil holder for my instrument...got any for timps? Or didgeridoo maybe?

Ummmmm, let's see..... Tempting, but no thanks... :p
I tend to use my ear, or music stand to hold a pencil..... although I'm sure a bit of DIY and a piece of wire would do the trick to attach to an instrument....

    ;-)

Actually, I think you're under-selling yourself. Three quid for a pencil clip seems a bargain when yo uconsider this man is close to swapping a paper clip for a house: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4918184.stm

I listened to an interview with guy on the radio, it's quite amazing how he's managed it although i think some of the swaps were definately a bit iffy and done because of the uniqueness of what he was doing

It was on the main BBC News page.

No I don't mind you saying - in fact, I don't care what you think either way, if that's the type of attitude you show. Have a nice day.
