Peter Jepson sadly passed away, after a long illness, in The Village Nursing Home, Banks, on Tuesday 1st July, where he had been cared for since the death of his wife Mary.

Peter played euphonium and cornet with Banks Brass, Hesketh Bank, Lostock Hall and Ormskirk bands, and conducted both Ormskirk and Bury Band, and was frequently to be seen listening "on the wall" at Delph on Whit Friday.

Peter's funeral is at Banks Methodist Chapel at 1.45pm on Friday 11th July. All who knew him are welcome to attend. A band is being formed for the occasion, those who wish to play should bring a red hymn book and a copy of "True and Trusty" if possible.

Just a quick note to say thanks to all the members of Banks Brass, Hesketh Bank, Tarleton and Lostock Hall who formed the band at Peter's funeral today - everyone agrees it was a great send off for him!
