    Passing of Alan Hobson.

Sadly last Saturday Alan Hobson, long time Euphonium player with Farnworth and Walkden Brass Band passed away. He was widely regarded for his sweet tone and personally some of my earliest banding memories are of him performing Grandfathers Clock with awesome beauty.

A true gentlemen, he will be missed by the banding world.

The funeral will be held in Ainsworth on Monday 10th June 2013. Details can be got from the band.

    Rest in Peace Silver Fox!

Another great guy passed on......My dad used to teach Alan ,in our home ... right up to his Army days, and also short time after.
Always the gentleman, and a very underrated player. As a boy, I used to be in the same band, and he always had time for me , even though I was a raw kid. RIP Alan.
