Co-operative Funeralcare - 15/8 fav the class of field for Paddy

    Bactiguard Wire Brass - 13/2
    Pemberton Old DW - 15/2
Whitburn - 8/1 They've got something to prove, will it be at London this weekend or here on home soil?

    Fishburn - 14/1
    Kingdom Brass - 18/1
    Dalmellington - 20/1
Kirkintilloch - 28/1 out of form, but perhaps a good e/w flutter if you think they'll mark their return here

    Unison Kinneil - 40/1
    Newtongrange - 50/1
    Bon-Accord Silver - 100/1

When did they drop the cup? Seems an odd set up now? Used to be more bands.... top 5 bizarrely in 1st and second sections in the shield and 3rd and 4th in the cup..... ah well...:dunno

Kirky at 28/1 is too good to miss out on.... Still think they've played a blinder this year!!

There was a long discussion about this on Facebook the other week, Diane! Haha. How it's changed. The Cup is gone, and the Shield is invitational. Top 3 bands from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sections in March compete for the Shield. Also this year it being open adjudication.

I've decided I'm going to hear the Championship Section and hopefully the B&R concert at night.

Everything was invitational though...... hence why we won the cup twice but didn't get invited to the shield till we won this year's Scottish. Odd!

Oh really?! Well, you know more about it than I  Maybe they are trying to make the competition more manageable, time-wise? Who knows.

I'm trying to find a way to hang about in Perth to see the concert now... B&R winning the Nationals has tempted me even more

Pretty long odds, I'd suspect, given that they don't appear in the draw...

He generally does but imagine the party the conspiracy theorists would have at the headline "Band which neither entered nor played wins Scottish Open".......although I'm quite sure some of our regular trolls would spout some nonsense about that being because all Scottish bands are so terrible they can be beaten by a band who isn't there? ;)

Popped into the Hall today to buy my ticket for Brighouse.........to be told that "they're only selling downstairs just now until they see what the demand is"........c'mon, Scottish banders, take the chance to hear a top class Band , let's fill the place!!

It's amazing isn't it...... didn't take long! I think I should take up magic as a sideline!

I am quite amused by the ridiculous generalisations you make...... come meet my band and we'll kick you right into touch!
