Another new thread from the 2009 winner of the tMP "Impact Award" (I was disgusted, I only found out today 2 weeks after polling closed, I could've voted for myself) - Thanks to all those who voted for me though

    Novelty combination bets.
I'll start off with a few and I welcome suggestions for others, the only rule is that they must have a good 'play on words' title...

    The car's the star
Reg Vardy & Leyland (not counting Fodens) to win their areas

Make MINE a double - (ja see what I did there?)
"Colliery" bands to win Midlands (Desford, Thoresby or Gresley) & Yorkshire (Grimey, Frickley or Hatfield - not counting Dyke or Rothwell) Areas

    By Royal Appointment
KINGDOM Brass, SOVEREIGN Brass & Mount CHARLES to win their areas

Snow on the day of the Area contest and a band, conductor or player of any section-winning band with a related surname (odds doubled if surname is "Winter" or "Snow")!

I don't know if they are competing this year but:

Parr (Richardson Ltd) St. Helens (North West)

    St John's Mossley (North West)
did not compete 2009 but came 4th in the 4th 2008

They're already on my lists, so god knows how I managed to miss them.

For either band to win the NW 4th section...

Well let's have a list of them first

just off the top of my head. Any others?? anyone??

    Again we'll list them first

can't think of any others, unless of course EVERY Silver band is a prize band and they've all just decided to drop it from the their name, that would be quite a few then

Quite a combination, a bit to complicated. But I'm happy to go with a band or conductor with mention of weather in the name...

    We need a list...

Brunel Brass (John Winter - flood) - should count double
    Thundersley Brass
    Cold Ash Brass
    Snowdown Colliery
    Rushden Windmill
    Rainford Silver
Storm Brass - not sure of a price yet thou
Wetherby & District - pushing it a bit with the spelling

Any more suggestions? (the more tenuous the better I think).

Oh Sun Life, where are you when we need you. RIP

    Denmead Brass (Estelle Flood)

Aren't Marsden a 'silver prize' band as well or have they dropped it?

(Or did the crazy BB player just imagine it....)
