More fun and games with our friends from Brass Band des non-Angleterre

Oberoesterreich at 9-1 has to be worth a punt!?

tMP predictions having been going for a while and my league have been making their bets too so it's time for an update

Before you read any further, yeah-yeah I know I said Evens would be the best you'll get out of me on Dyke or Cory but I can't ignore the interest shown in Eikanger & Oberoesterriech by the league members (check my twitter site to see the numbers)

    European 'A'
    Black Dyke - 11/10 fav
    Cory - 6/5
    Eikanger Bjørsvik Musikklag - 6/1

    Buizingen - 40/1
    De Waldsang - 200/1
    Bon Accord Silver - 200/1

    European 'B'
    3BA Brass - Evens fav

    Austrian Brass - 13/2

Another famous Paddy gaff (gonna be riveling David Coleman & Murray Walker at this rate) was to omit Oberschwaben-Allgau from my first list of prices, it was the way the Euro website listed them (honestly)

    Arrgghh.

Bon Accord in kilts. Let's hope there's no quick mute changes or it could be an 18 rating.

Typical, Eikanger start and the sound fails. I do hope I have not missed the winning performance?

I lost the sound as well, and thought it was my speakers :(

Good playing, but for me didn't match their performance in Birmingham in 2000 under Howard Snell, that remains the most exciting live test piece performance I have heard.

Just been talking about that performance (in Brum). Really quite special that day. YBS on Tallis were wonderful as well.

Oberösterreich sounding really good, though I don't know the piece.

I feel I must comment on what a tremendously enjoyable piece i have listen Cory play.

Phillip Sparke you have excelled beyond belief.
So many different signatures, blended sounds and colours it was worth the £8.00 just to have the pleasure of listening to the World Premier of such a splendid work so very well played by the Cory Band.
Yoo tend to get the feeling that things are working when Bob Childs smiles at all the band after the 2nd movement.
Two fantastic uerformances this weekend by Cory, well done.

Anyone lost feed during the Russell Gray interview? If so, has anyone got it back?

They've just apologised for the break - got it back just before "Vienna Nights" started.

    Thank you!

I hope the streaming thingy worked OK and was of good quality. I have to say that Cory this weekend produced the most beautiful band sound I have ever heard (and I've heard a few great ones!) I hope this came across in the live stream. Bob did nothing more than try to play the pieces as well and as faithfully as possible and, talking to the judges, this integrity was appreciated. It's probably the best performance of a premiere I've had, although YBS on Spheres was pretty close, but in a more visceral way!!
