About 4 weeks to wait for brass banding's show of concert strength on the Tyne and one or two bands are coming into a rich vein of form just in time...

    Rothwell Temperance - 11/2
    Tredegar - 11/2
    Foden’s - 7/1
    Grimethorpe - 9/1
    Leyland - 10/1
    Carlton Main Frickley - 18/1
    Desford - 28/1
    Flowers - 40/1
    Reg Vardy - 100/1
    Redbridge - 250/1

    Winning Region
    Yorkshire - 5/6
    North-West - 11/10

Do we know who the MD's for the bands are yet?

A fiver on Redbridge please!!! I also agree that the conductors will make a difference to the bands.

Rothwell will need to be much more inventive than they were last year to be in with a shout in my opinion. Synthesised Drums just won't cut it again!!!

B&R have Mr Evans at the helm, and on current form too . . .

    £25 to win on B&R.

Paddy, do these odds reflect current contest form or have you factored entertainment form into this? I sense value.....

A little from Column A, a little from Column B.

As always Paddy takes as much info as is available into account, general form (which obviously informs the bulk of my opinion), entertainment form AND record/tendancy at the specific event.

Money where you mouth is time I sense. Anyway, these odds will adjust once tMP predictions are up and my league get involved so why not JOIN THE LEAGUE and have a say (everyone that is, not just Bayerd)

Very easy, send me an e-mail with your playing name, home region and 20.00 worth of bets split up however you like as long as they are in whole pound bets

Same goes for Pontins btw BUT 10.00 for each of the 5 sections, DEADLINE 9am (just under 2 hours time)

I put this one out to the league yesterday and they certainly have had their say...

Brighouse & Rastrick - 15/8 fav (from 100/30) OK, hard to bet against a National Champion and Dick the Stick combination
Foden’s - 7/2 (13/2) but the league fancy a bit of John Wallace too
    Tredegar - 4/1 (5/1)
Fairey (Geneva) - 9/2 (11/4) a suprisingly luke warm response
    Grimethorpe Colliery - 9/1 (8/1)
Rothwell Temperance - 14/1 (5/1) no interest at the moment
    Leyland - 22/1 (10/1)
    Flowers - 33/1 (40/1)
    Carlton Main Frickley Colliery - 50/1 (16/1)
    Reg Vardy - 50/1 (100/1)
    Redbridge Brass - 50/1 (200/1)

I'm ready to take your Paddy Pound bets on this contest.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Faireys bouncing back from their recent tragedy with a renewed vigour.

Can I just put on record that I put these odds up this morning BEFORE reading the article about Fairey's bandroom on 4br. In no way was this meant to be an ironic comment.

It is a tragedy for the band, all that history...

I think they're safe for an e/w bet
