Interesting- why have Poynton gone from joint-favourites?

Not sure what you mean by 'gone from', this is the first prices of a new market.

Are you confusing it which Wychavon where I DO have Poynton as 7/2 favs? They were jt favs at 4/1 with Pheonix West Midlands for that one.

Can I take a Yorkshire Triple - Emley/Strata/Stannington? what odd's? see if I can give you some of my winnings back. . . Will it alter the odds if I tell you Emley are only playing one piece from the Wychavon program!

    one piece from Wychavon??

It's either confidence, tailoring to the adjudicator or giving everyone else a chance?

Can't think of any good puns this time so i'll just say a £1 treble would pay out £396. You'd be a rich man if you put all of the £26 on it

Tell me about it!! You want to try playing for the tyrannical little despot.

You should have heard the muted stunned silence when he dropped that little bomb shell!

You know you love a good laugh! Thanks Paddy - I'll go the whole £26 just to make it interesting. . .

You've gotta smile, i didn't want any sitting back and relaxing for the 2 weeks just because we'd pulled a good one out at wychavon. Pushing forward full steam. And 2ndmandown's off the solo duty for a change ;)

I think that was on the first rules I got back when we first entered?

As got my committee to ring carole to check about our 2 deps as we have a percussion player off on holidays and we also have our topman on his honey moon so we have a dep on topman (which is ok as he is not our stand up soloist) so is not breaking any rules.

The rule that is bothering me is the percussion as we have to use what is provided, which is fine for the big stuff but my percussion player would like to use his snare and we have been told no and also he uses a double bass pedal for one of our pieces which he could easily change within the time of 15 minutes between bands. But we have also been told no to this. I agree this is a great time saver and space saver for the venue.

What do you think? Has anyone else have views.

Once again the contest is great and I do agree for the likes of the big percussion (Timps, Tublar bells, etc) it being provided is great. but for the arguement of a snare drum (the size of a horn case) and a double foot pedal (size of a cornet case ish) I cant see any problem

    Good luck as well Garry

and good luck to all bands on Sunday

I would agree with you there Ian, Snare's are a very personal thing for a lot of Kit players, You wouldn't ask the top man to play a Yamaha cornet on the day. 15 minutes! we could build him a whole nw kit from scratch, never mind add a double bass pedal. .

So you can borrow and end chair? that's different - I hadn't read the rules, Dave tells me what I need to know. We're fortunate to just be borrowing a perc player - just cause I fancy 4 on the day.

I'm looking forward to it. . anyone know the hall? or the area? we need somewhere for refreshment and lunch.

    Woohoo!! 'Ave it.

Cracking result today team. Solid performance. Not bad at all to say we completely changed the program we won with at Wychaven two weeks ago.

Well done to all the bands competing today.
