I hear that Onyx Brass will be playing at the 2010 RNCM Festival of Brass as part of the PJBE tribute. They are a classy bunch and in my opinion the natural successors to PJBE. What with the fest featuring the music of Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen as well, sounds like it is shaping up to be something special. Well, I think so anyway!

I know what you mean. But although London Brass did arise from the ashes of PJBE, they seem in recent years to have gone all 'jazzy' and 'big band'. I can't imagine PJBE under Philip Jones playing that sort of stuff. Onyx Brass, on the other hand, seem to play exactly the sort of repertoire that the old PJBE played.

I know, I'm living in the past. When you get to my age.....
