    Does anyone have any pre 1992 ish European Championships recordings?

    From about 1985 there were bands like Dyke under Major Parkes and Desford under Howard Snell around (1986 particularly) and would like to hear some of the performances from that era because I would guess there were a few good ones!

    Let me know

    John

    I've got the double cassette recording of the 1984 Europeans.

    Thanks for the plug, Peter.
    We've got so many new titles just now, I'm struggling to do all the tMP postings!
    Anyway, the release you talk about is a triple CD called
    25 years of the European Brass Band Championships.
    Pre 1992 tracks are;

    1978; Introduction, Elegy & Caprice (Black Dyke Mills)
    1979; Symphonic Music (Black Dyke Mills)
    1986; The Year of the Dragon (Desford)
    1988; Variations on an Enigma (Eikanger-Bjorsvik)
    1989; Trittico (Eikanger-Bjorsvik)
    1991; A London Overture (Britannia Building Society)
    1991; Fanfare & Flourishes (Black Dyke Mills)

    All the rest is 1993 to 2002.
    I hope this helps.
