EDIT: As WIZARD has started the ball rolling, I'll make this the Official tMP thread for the Spring Festival. Please feel free to post your predictions, comments and discussion here and,

How about predictions for the cup and the trophy as well? No point in having three different threads is there?

I'm told Aldbourne are playing very well at the moment, for the Trophy.

is there a prize for soloist in the shield because it would be interestin to see who gets it a principal cornet player or a principal euph player!

although the cornet solo is nice enough the prize has to go to a euphonium! It would take every single euph player to cock up for a cornet to outshine that horrendous set of notes the euph players have to do.

Played well it will be a magic moment and sends shivers down my spine even in rehearsals.

I'm probably the only member of my band to like masquerade, and even I appreciate it is a painful experience for all. I wouldn't presume to be able to predict it - especially because in a way masquerade will be a great leveller.

Good luck to all, hope to get an early draw so I can drink to forget.....

Shield - Leyland, Hepworth, Ransome, Carlton Main
Cup - Stafforshire, BTM, Newtongrange, Wingates
Trophy - BHK, Alliance, Welwyn, Pemberton Old

Staffordshire sounded really good today at Buxton!!

New piece, new day. You've been around and are a good band, shouldn't be a problem you lot getting in the top four.

Tough call between 1 & 2,so I thought I'd give you some bulletin board material ;-)

Things are starting to come along nicely.

We don't lose our top man until AFTER blackpool.

(Still looking for one for after Blackpool though)

As avid a Haydock supporter that I am, don't forget, they got sent down from the Senior Cup last year...and as already mentioned...their solo trombone is dodgy (at least has a dodgy playing arm) and is apparently bad luck ;-)

However, it does only take one contest to get back on a roll!!

Oh, when Chris rang me he made it sound like you needed top man for blackpool. BHK did have a great result at the areas and they have the major at the helm so they should be the band to beat. Like I said though top 4 will do thank you very much. Be interesting to see what 4bars say, should go up soon as Malcolm was ringing round asking for principle players 2 weeks ago.

Sorry Pat, Malcolm asked for Sop, Top man, Flugal, Solo Horn, Euph and Trom. Probably won't mention bari's or tuba's. Really sorry mate, but hopefully the write up should be as good nationals and areas.

I'm pretty sure that the top 2 in the Shield qualify for the Open, but how many bands get promotion/relegation from the Cup and Trophy?

    Cheers,
    Dave

I think it's bottom 5 drop out of Shield and top 5 from section below go up.
