Due to the unfortunate early announcement of the Regional Test Pieces for 2011 we at Kirklees Music would ask Section 3 and 4 Bands to note the following.

Section 4: "Prelude, Song & Dance" (John Golland)
This music was first published in the late 1980's and when chosen for 2011 we felt that it was time to update the pre-Sibelius
version, along with quite a few modifications to the score.
The music panel are aware of this and state that this new version must be used at the contests next year.
If any bands have the original version Kirklees will part exchange these at a much reduced cost. This must be ordered direct from Kirklees to make it work without complications.

Section 3: "A Little Night Music" (Philip Wilby)
This is quite a recent work and we have again made a few modifications to the score in collaboration with Philip Wilby.
Because of this Mr. Alan Hope and the selection panel state that the new version must be used at the contest.
Because this is a recent work we will exchange the returned music for another revised edition. Again this transaction must be done direct with Kirklees.

All the above information was to be released at the National Finals Harrogate September 25th.

Also a few words about the posting on tmp regarding the amount of Kirklees test pieces selected since 2005. We must state that this is not surprising as we have music by Philip Wilby, Michael Ball, John Pickard, John Golland, Darrol Barry, Alan Fernie plus all our winners of the Salford University/Kirklees Award in our catalogue. Obvioulsy my Dad, David Horsfield is not and never has been on the selection panel.
