Norman was a lovely gentleman and I thoroughly enjoyed my years of going to his house for lessons.

    He will be missed.

I only knew of the gentleman, but heard many stories from friends and its obvious he was well respected in the movement . Always sad to lose such a well thought of member. R.I.P Mr Ashcroft.

I have a good memory of Norman playing Nightfall in Camp at Fort Erie, Ontario with Fairey's. The setting was in the ruins of the fort and was part of the Black Dyke, GUS, Fairey, and CWS Manchester Bands visit to Ontario some 30 years ago.

I have very fond memories of Mr Ashcroft who was my peri for about 3 years when I was at school. He was a real gentleman and a great role model. He could reduce me to tears, but when I would ask him why he was so "mean" to me and so lenient on other pupils, he would reply "because I know you can do it Helen". He inspired me to try so hard and I'll be forever grateful.

    RIP Mr Ashcroft.

    Norman Ashcroft's Funeral.

Cemetery is called: Bron-Y-Nant Crematorium, Dinerth Road, RHOS ON SEA,, LL28 4YN, Tel 01492 547235.

You get to it off the A56 going EAST by leaving at Jct 20. Go on to Conway Road A547 and continue in the direction of Llandudno. Turn right off this road onto Dinerth Road which goes under the A56. The crematorium is on Dinarth Rd about 0.5 miles on from where you go under the A56.
