    Award #16 - Best new music of the last 12 months - tMP Musician Award

    Please nominate who - in your opinion - has produced the best new piece of music and should be the recipient of 'tMP Musician Award' for the last 12 months.

    Please ensure you make absolutely clear who and which piece of music you nominate.

    - who would have thought a collaboration between composers such as these would have delivered such a balanced piece of music?

    Just to clarify: any composition for brass band from the past year can be nominated, regardless of who the composer is.

    We may need to confer on this one as, although the whole piece, including the percussion interludes, was premiered this year, each of the four movements has been performed previously.

    Yes, a wonderful piece of music, and I only had to look as far as my band folder to check! The date at the bottom clearly states "2000" ;)

    D'oh! But I only heard about it on here this year AND I live in Somerset so am 10 years behind the real world anyway. :oops:

    In fact one of the movements (Wildfire) was premiered by the NYBBW in 1991.

    Bramwell Tovey: A Night to Sing, some of the most original brass writing in many years.
