    Award #15 - Band CD of the Year - tMP Gramophone Award

    Please nominate which banding CD - in your opinion - should be the recipient of the 'CD of the Year' award - the 'tMP Gramophone Award' for the last 12 months NB. please only nominate CDs released in the period Nov '04 to Nov '05, and please do not nominate Solo CDs - there is a separate award category for those!

    Please ensure you make absolutely clear which CD you nominate.

    To make your nomination, please simply reply to this thread or to nominate anonymously simply PM John, Roger, Dyl, Ian, Dinie, Peter, Neal or Rachel who will then add your nomination to the list.

    My favourite: "Tales & Stories" by Eikanger-Bjorsvik

    A CD of fresh ideas, that has rarely been out of my CD player.

    I'd like to nominate the 2005 European Championship CD
    Extreme Makeover and Journey to the Centre of the Earth are just the start on that one.

    I'm going for YBS's "Alpha and Omega - The Music of Ray Steadman-Allen", despite Seascapes not given a studio workout on this recording!

    Another vote for "Tales & Stories"

    Just a quick point does Gaia qualify ( It does have Men of Stone taken from the Kirklees CD of the same title)? as a new cd instead of a compilation of previous releases.

    I think we'd need to confer on that one, as I said on the other thread where the work itself was nominated, although there is nothing in the nomination criteria to say that re-issued material cannot be included - watch this space!

    Having toyed with the Grimethorpe historical recording, I've decided to nominate the third volume of the Heaton Collection, ISB & Black Dyke, SPS198CD:

    I would like to nominate;

    Jewels In The Crown By Black Dyke Mills because :
    It goes right back to the earliest recordings of the band right up to the present day.
    Plus a lot of research and time as been put in on this CD by the Managing Director of Doyen;Mr Nick Childs:clap: :tup
