Following the arrival of new MD Ken Vernon, it gives us great pleasure to welcome two new announcements to the Dinnington Colliery Band. Firstly, Lucy Vernon joins us on the back row. Lucy is 11 years old and will be replacing Lucy Eggleshaw, who left to take up an exciting offer from Carlton Main, on Repiano Cornet. Lucy joins from the Whitwell Band, where she started her playing career. Also from the Whitwell band is Rob Deakin, who will be playing on the Front row. Rob represents a great coup for the band and goes a long way to solving the troublesome situation regarding the front row. He is currently studying for his A-Levels at a secondary school in Retford.

The arrival of Lucy and Rob cements Dinnington's position as one of the area's primary investors in young, local talent from the Rotherham and Worksop areas.

The band is now working hard throughout the busy Christmas period and working towards the Regional Championships in Bradford in March, where we hope to cement our position in the Second Section.
