Phoenix West Midlands Brass are delighted to announce the appointment of David Maplestone as the band’s new Musical Director. David has been working with the band for several months and recently led the band to second place in the second section of the Wychavon Festival of Brass. The Band were delighted with the new levels of performance achieved through working with David and are now looking forward to competing at Pontins in November.

The appointment coincides with the release of the band’s debut CD “Joy, Peace and Happiness”, recorded earlier this year by Dolce productions.

A spokesman for the band said “We are thrilled with the appointment and the experience and skill David brings to the bandroom will be invaluable as we prepare for Pontins and next year’s area. Having recruited several new players, Jo Todd (former Staffordshire Band) & Jerry Yorke (former Langley) the band is stronger than ever and we all feel David is the man to take us forward.”
