  1. Thundersley Brass Band are delighted to announce the appointment of their new Musical Director, Mr Roland Morris.

Roland learned to play the cornet in the Salvation Army where he held the Soprano Cornet chair in Barking and Ilford SA Bands. He then spent over 25 years playing cornet for various bands in the area, including Hatfields of Colchester, Ipswich & Norwich Co-op, Clacton Co-op, First City, Stansted Silver, and Eglisaw.

Roland took Suffolk Fire Service Band up through the sections in his 7 years with the band, and has been much in demand as a conductor with various bands- including Colchester, Ipswich & Norwich, Clacton, Haverhill, Matthews Norfolk, First City, and Eglisau (Switzerland). He is currently Assistant Musical Director with the Clacton on Sea Co-op Band.

The band are extremely excited by his appointment, and look forward to working with Roland- and continuing its meteoric rise through the sections.
