The East Riding of Yorkshire Band is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Andrews as the musical director.

Peter has been conducting the band since June and has brought a level of enthusiasm to the role that has had an instant positive impact on the band.

Peter Andrews grew up in Hartlepool. It was here as a member of the Salvation Army that Peter learnt the Cornet and got a taste for brass banding. During the 1990’s Peter studied at the University College of Ripon and York St. John’s College passing his degree in 1997.

Peter has extensive playing experience with many bands in the North East and Yorkshire including Harrogate, Fishburn, Lockwood and his current band United Co-op Yorkshire. As well as playing Peter has over 15 years experience with the baton, notably with Ripon City and Hartlepool. He is a member of the National Association of Brass Band Conductors.

Peter teaches at Boroughbridge High School and lives with his family in Ripon.
