Ringwood and Burley Band are delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Block BA, LRAM, LGCM as Deputy Conductor. Alongside his career in teaching music, Steve has always conducted amateur groups, including operatic and choral societies as well as youth and adult orchestras.

Most of Steve's brass playing and teaching has been on trumpet, but since moving to Bournemouth in 2010 he has taken up cornet again, and now plays soprano with Ringwood & Burley as well as Christchurch U3A Vintage Brass.

Steve is absolutely delighted to be appointed as Deputy Conductor for Ringwood and Burley band, and feels he can learn from the wealth of experience that the band members have, and especially from their Musical Director Bernard Lawson.

The band looks forward to a long, happy and mutually rewarding relationship with Steve, and feels that his appointment marks a furhter stage in the development of this happy and progressive group.
