Some good news from North London Brass...

Having launched our North London Brass (Enfield) start-up band in January 2010, we're building on a ground swell of local enthusiasm for brass playing, both at junior and intermediate level, by launching a second band from 11 June 2010, NORTH LONDON BRASS (SOUTHGATE).

In summary, North London Brass are now running two local bands and we're keen to secure support from experienced players who fancy a blow and from pro players who are interested in coaching. We meet, as follows:

Wednesday evenings: North London Brass (Enfield)
Christ Church URC Hall, Chase Side, Enfield EN2 6NJ
7.15pm (Academy Band), 8.00pm (Senior Band)

Friday evenings: North London Brass (Southgate)
Oakwood Baptist Church, Merrivale, Southgate, London N14 4TE
7.15pm (Academy Band), 8.00pm (Senior Band)

We also offer brass players a unique opportunity to combine their traditional playing with regular big band jazz sessions on Thursday evenings with our sister project, North London Big Band, also in Enfield.

Thanks to generous help from fellow 'The Mouthpiece' members, friends and local musicians, we have built up an interesting initial library of material suitable learner and progressing players. We're always grateful for assistance with any aspect of our work in North London and we're looking forward to making our area and our projects centres of excellence and a gathering place for everyone interested in playing brass and promoting band work in our community.

North London Brass (Southgate) is a 5-minute walk from Oakwood Underground Station (Piccadilly Line).

Please contact us if you would like to come and see what we do, if you can help us in any way or if you just fancy coming along for a blow - we're very friendly and we serve the best refreshments in town )
