I just listened to last Friday's LTTB with music recorded at the RAH a week ago.

I appreciated the interview with Philip Sparke on the performances of his test piece but wasn't it an insult for the producers to let us hear only two excerpts of the piece --and by two different bands? There was a time when the complete winning performance was broadcast by the BBC.

For a broadcast dedicated to contest day at the RAH, such dumbing down strikes me as pathetic.

(This is not intended as a criticism of the other pieces heard in the programme.)

Dumbing down? I guess you won't be listening to the thrilling "brass pop" special coming up on LTTB this coming Friday then!
