I see next weekend S4C are covering the Eistedfodd live on Saturday morning from Bangor starting at 10 in the morning. Is anyone going to watch as last year was quite entertaining even though I couldn't understand a word of what was being said . It looks as though it is being well supported in the lower sections 8 bands in the 4th and 7 in the 3rd.

Sections A & B are on Sunday the 31st of July too!

I'll check up on the timings for each section tomorrow and post them on here.

I think I'm right in saying that the whole event is also available through the S4C website - which makes it a unique event in banding I think - a live contest on TV and on the 'net.

Also, look out for the instrumental duet on Friday 5th of August (1.30pm) and the Musical Ensemble competition on Saturday 6th (10.00am) - to see if you recognise anyone! ;)

  4. I will most certainly be there as it's in my home town!! Am also playing on the sunday! You'll probably catch me propping up the bar in the beer pavillion :D

What is the full line up of Bands in all sections?
It's a shame the competitions are on the same time of the NYBBW course . Still the Beaumaris B and Senior bands will be there Sat / Sun.
Also looking forward to our concert with Samba Bangor ( www.sambabangor.org. )on the Vaynol site and at the Galeri Caernarfon ( www.galericaernarfon.com) :)

Last year adventures in brass appeared to be the in piece, I wonder what it will be this year?

Yes, more bands in the third section than at the areas would you believe, which is great.

Our band has withdrawn from the second section though, sadly.

well you need all the help you can get... ;-)

    who's against you? RAF?

I'm not very happy about it personally but to be brutally honest we need to get results in the 3rd section before thinking of entering 2nd section contest. Cropian cyn cerdded.

I could write a long essay about why we're in the situation we're in but it's probably best not to on here, lol

Good luck to all the North Wales bands I'll be looking forward to hearing you all.

Gaz, thanks for the list of bands. Trefor have pulled out of the 2nd section. Are there any other withdrawls?

Dyl- did Deiniols not fancy a go in the Champ/1st?

Thanks for pointing that out - i'm not aware of any other withdrawls i'm afraid as I got the list of bands from the Eisteddfod programme of the whole week which i'm guessing would have been printed a while back. I'll edit my original post now to take Trefor off the 2nd section.

Gaz are these the order of play? or do we have to draw on the day? could be some problems for bands borrowing a couple of our players if there are.
