Having just posted on the "Christopher Reeve" forum, it's got me thinking....

Does anybody have any "tunes" in their head when working out musical intervals ?

As a Percussionist, and mainly Timps, I use this way of thinking alot... (It's also great for Aural Exams etc )

    A Starter for 10:

Perfect 5th Down, Perfect 4th Up: Theme from Superman :)
    Pefect 4th: "On Ilkla Moor Ba Tat" (I'm a Yorkshireman :) ) / "Away in a Manger"
Perfect 5th: "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"
Major 6th: "My Bonny Lies over the ocean"

Any more for any more ?

Not tuning timps, but when collecting door to door I do tend to link the doorbell tones to the start of tunes:

Down a fourth: Born Free (or Lawrence of Arabia!)

Down a minor third: Colonel Bogey

Ignore my 'minor 7th' reference. Complete cobblers! Having a 'bad ear' day....

My music teacher always used to tell me to think of "High Ho" (from snow white & the seven dwarfs) when wanting to go up an octave
