Killamarsh have been booked to play in Heacham, Norfolk later this year as part of the 400th anniversary of the meeting of Pocahontas and John Smith although she subsequently married a John Rolfe who lived at Heacham Hall.

We are doing an evening concert in the church and I'd like to come up with a suitable programme of music that we can dedicate to this particular theme - any suggests for a 3/4th section standard band?

Looking at our library I've come up with some music which I think are nominally 16/17th century and of course Colo(u)rs of the Wind from the Disney Film

    Canzona Per Sonare - Gabrielli
    Capriol Suite
The Girl I Left Behind Me
    Gaudette
    Toss the Feathers
    Maids of the Mourne Shore
    Orange & Lemons.

Not 100% correct as I've just found this

2007 is the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, the first permanent English-speaking settlement in America.

    So any American music thoughts?

There's the Disney music of course, but you could streach the boundaries a bit further and go for Dances With Wolves. Be careful with film music in Heacham, though. They haven't had these new-fangled talking pictures for very long....
