Killamarsh have been booked to play in Heacham, Norfolk later this year as part of the 400th anniversary of the meeting of Pocahontas and John Smith although she subsequently married a John Rolfe who lived at Heacham Hall. We are doing an evening concert in the church and I'd like to come up with a suitable programme of music that we can dedicate to this particular theme - any suggests for a 3/4th section standard band? Looking at our library I've come up with some music which I think are nominally 16/17th century and of course Colo(u)rs of the Wind from the Disney Film Canzona Per Sonare - Gabrielli Capriol Suite The Girl I Left Behind Me Gaudette Toss the Feathers Maids of the Mourne Shore Orange & Lemons. Not 100% correct as I've just found this 2007 is the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, the first permanent English-speaking settlement in America. So any American music thoughts?
